Oro in gear to read and write...Story and picture by JULIA DAIA BORE THE national literacy and awareness week in Popondetta, Northern, officially starts today. Education Department officials arrived at the Girua Airport yesterday to the “Oro, Oro, Oro” welcoming cries and dance staged by Sangara Community School students in their colourful traditional best (left). The department delegation was led by Willie Jondua, the director-general of the national literacy and awareness division. Jonduo was accompanied by acting national librarian and national archivist Jacob Hevelawa and other educationists.
This year’s theme is kauntim, ridim na raitim (counting, reading and writing).
