Design Scope snatches big jobs in Lae

By JASON SOM KAUT
LAE-based Design Scope Architects has recorded a 20% increase in construction jobs in Lae last year.

The company said more clients from outside of Morobe hired it for design and documentation jobs.
The company was one of the many construction-related firms in Lae that recorded increased business last year due to an upsurge in mining activities in Morobe alongside construction activities in other areas.
John Ronnie, Design’s principal architect noted a booming business in Lae, which he said, accounted for most of his company’s contracts.
“The business atmosphere looks very healthy,” he said, adding that his firm was anticipating more contracts this year.
Among the company’s notable projects included the multi-million kina Raumai Shopping Mall at Eriku and a new warehouse for Raumai at Lae’s main market.
