High profile delegation in Sialum to hold talks

A HIGH profile delegation from the Morobe administration yesterday met with public servants and community leaders in Sialum and Tewai-Siassi districts to discuss means of reducing lawlessness.
The team, including administrator Manasupe Zurenuoc, flew into the out-station by helicopter early yesterday morning and returned at close of business.
Among the issues discussed were the surrender of illegal firearms believed to have been used by thugs to menace public servants and station residents.
Sialum acting district administrator Lingkeo Mesere said from Sialum yesterday that the delegation first met with the public servants and later the community leaders.
Mr Mesere said the delegation urged the community leaders to negotiate the surrender of all firearms in the area and to bring the suspects involved to the police before Jan 18.
