US visa fee increased to K390 from K300

THE United States Embassy in Port Moresby has announced an increase in non-immigrant visa fee from Jan 1.
The application fee for a visa will increase from US$100 (K300) to US$131 (K390).
Applicants who paid the fee before Jan 1, will have their applications processed without further payment only if they appear for a visa interview before Jan 31.
The embassy said this was the first increase in visa application fee since 2002.
Applicants who paid the fee to appear for visa interviews after Jan 31 must pay the difference of US$31 (K90) before they would be interviewed.
Any payments made after Jan 1, regardless of the interview date, must pay the full US$131 fee, the embassy said in a statement.
The US Embassy is open for visa applications on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 11am.
