Wewak snub for New Generation
Police block Bart from launching party ESP branch

POLICE in Wewak yesterday sprang a surprise on Lae MP Bart Philemon and his New Generation Party group by blocking the launch of the party’s East Sepik branch in the town.

Copra that broke the tractor’s back... Horses sometimes rear and neigh in protest over the weight on their backs and this tractor with a heavy trailer of copra in tow in Buka, Bougainville seemed to have reacted in an almost similar fashion. It seemed the extra kennel of copra that ‘broke the tractor’s back’ came from the intensity with which Buka parents are producing copra to help meet the school fees of their children this year.
