More losses for PNG stocks on ASX

PAPUA New Guinea-related companies continued to suffer losses on the Australian Stock Exchange yesterday as the ASX all ordinaries index shed 65.3 points to5,484.5 due to weakness in the resources sector.
Oil Search remained steady at A$3.25 a share on turnover of 2.8 millionshares but Lihir fell by A$0.05 to A$2.80 on a turnover of 12.3 million shares.
Other losers included Highlands Pacific, down A$0.025 to A$0.36; AlliedGold down A$0.025 to A$0.32; Marengo Mining down A$0.05 to A$0.20 and Frontier Resources was down A$0.01 to A$0.13.
Emperor Mining has been suspended since Dec 27 as it sought short-term finance for its troubled operations following the shutdown of its Fijian gold mine.
