A 38-year-old woman died instantly when she was stabbed at 3 Mile in Lae during a fight with another woman.
Police confirmed that at around 9am last Saturday, while the woman from Simbu province was mediating in an adultery case, another woman came at her with a knife and stabbed her, killing her instantly.
The suspect has been detained by police for further investigations.
Around the same time, a mother and her child were abducted and kept for three days before being released yesterday.
Police said the woman was induced before she and her child were taken away.
The suspect has been caught and investigations are still underway.
Meanwhile, suspects involved in a break-in at a house at Cascade village at 1 Mile are yet to be apprehended.
They had cut through the fence and made away with several properties.
Police were unable to confirm the stolen property.
