Nita an academic role model

DR Albert Nita was a very professional lecturer, mentor, academic role model and a man of principle.
He was one of the very important human resources that the nation and Enga had ever produced.
His death was a great loss to the nation, the people of Enga, the University of Papua New Guinea and his geography and environmental science students.
One walking through the corridors of the Science Building II would always come across a very friendly man, always smiling and chatting with a student for a minute or two.
His doors were always open to his students and friends alike.
His approaches to lecturing, and presentation were very professional, unique, satisfactory and highly admired by his students.
In the area of regional planning, environmental governance and natural resources management, he had left behind a very big gap in the strand of geography and environmental science.
It will now cost the nation and UPNG the resources and time needed to replace him with someone in this specialised field.
We, the graduates and the current students of geography and environmental science nationwide, mourn and pay tribute to our great friend, father and our beloved lecturer the late Dr Nita.
You had contributed so much towards our future and words cannot express our sorrow.
We will greatly miss your friendliness and smile.
We express our heartfelt sympathy and condolence to his wife, children, family members and the people of Enga.

John Laule
Class of 2004,
