Tauruba opens new classrooms

By CHRIS TABEL
TAURUBA village in Rigo district, Central province, celebrated the opening of a new four-classroom building last Thursday, thanks to a timely boost from Rigo MP Anderson Vele.
Built at a cost of K18,000, the classroom will be used to house two elementary and both Grade’s one and two classes in this year.
Mr Vele constituted K16,000 of the total payment, saying the donation was part of his district’s five-year development plan aimed at maintaining existing facilities in 30 schools within the district.
Mr Vele said the classrooms were an asset to the Tauruba village and a sign of progress and development.
He appealed to the youths and villagers to take care of the building.
Mr Vele said his office had ensured all district acquittals were given in on time resulting in prompt fund allocation by the Department of Finance and Planning for the project.
The Member also pledged his continued support to subsidise Rigo students’ school fees for this year with an increase compared to last year’s K50,000 allocation.
Mr Vele said funding received by Members of Parliament, though insufficient to meet all development goals, should not be an excuse for poor management.
Also present on the occasion were a delegation from the Central provincial government led by Governor Alphonse Moroi and administrator Raphael Yipmaramba.
