Central government submits budget plan

THE Central provincial government has presented its budget plan to Treasury Minister Sir Rabbie Namaliu.
Central province Governor Alphonse Moroi said most of the budgeted funds would go to the local level governments and districts through the joint district planning and budget priority committee for implementation of projects identified in the ward development profiles.
The breakdown of the budget includes 55% to local level governments, 35% to districts and 15% to the provincial headquarters.
The Central provincial government started transferring funds in cheques through the joint district planning and budget priority committee last year and intends to continue the process this year.
