Annoyed over porn claim
I REFER to the headline “Local porn rife in ENB” (Jan 16). I have lived and worked in Rabaul and Kokopo in East New Britain province for 15 years before moving to Port Moresby recently. I am very annoyed with the article as it is not the final report by Bernie Benson. It is unfair to the vast majority of the East New Britain people to post this article without completing your finding and investigation. East New Britain people are amongst the best breed of people who are knowledgeable, skilful and are assets to the province. My conclusion is that not all people of East New Britain are involved in this. – Former Barike resident, Port Moresby

Regulate rental charges
I AM appalled to see the high cost of renting a decent house or flat in towns and cities of PNG. It is unrealistic for a person who is earning between K500 and K700 to rent a decent accommodation. Most houses and flats are going for more than K500 a week! That is K2,000 a month. Therefore, most people tend to live in settlements. The landlords and real estate agents are charging the rental fee as they wish. It seems to me that it is unregulated and therefore, the Government should do something about it. If this trend continues, settlements in the cities and towns will eventually grow and who knows what will happen next. – JP Waigi, Lae

Buck up, Telikom

CAN B Mobile or Telikom stop wasting money on colour advertisements and instead use that money to improve its services? Since last December, we cannot even talk for a minute without the line being cut off. It takes another five minutes to get a line and before you know it, the line is disconnected again. On Sunday (Jan 13), I had K6.48 left. But after sending a text message, I found that I have only K2.84 left. This is daylight robbery. I am not surprised if many B Mobile users are also encountering this problem. Buck up, Telikom. – Digicel kam hariap, Tabubil

Monitor PMVs

I CALL on the Land Transport Board and Lae police to monitor the movement of PMVs in the city. Any driver found not to be serving the intended route must be hauled up and fined. If need be, ban repeated offenders. The authorities must also ensure that the drivers and crews are properly attired, old and torn seats are replaced, and rubbish and buai stains are removed. Finally, the authorities must ensure that all PMVs are roadworthy. – Nelson Wareva, Lae

Well done, Philip
I AM delighted by the action of the new MP for Menyamya Benjamin Philip. He has made the right step by upgrading the deteriorating road. Please don’t forget to team up with the Bulolo MP and plan jointly for a better service delivery to the people of Bulolo and Menyamya district. – Eleo Dowa, Lae
