Known silence

In a moment of aging I sit
still as the pages of a book
fluttering in the wind
As known silence
can not be thought
in frought vain
it can not be brought
to see beyond a mountain in a blink
is to see silence in a sleep
Verily as the wind blows
through a flame
known silence surely is frought

Speechless

Some guy from the Y-block
just came out from Beon.

BY bottle shop is left high and dry.
Ken’s talented voice rings high as it quivers;
Kutex visualizes the rhythm with his sensuous hips.

Lapun Mike is all nostalgic
as Fleetwood Mac pierced the cool quiet night.

Play back becomes countless...

The dim light completes the delirium.
Across the palang bed through half-closed eyes,
I see Tommy smiling to himself.
I pretend to be speechless.
Years later words still fail me.
Yes, it’s true, I was there.

Moon dance

I saw it rise over the horizon
Queen of the night
Fair as a lady of my dreams
Its rays stretched across the water
Inviting me to dance

I rubbed my body with coconut oil
Wrapped the tapa cloth around my waist
A head dress of feathers I put on my head
And around my neck and body
I hung rattles and beads of seashells
I picked up my kundu drum
And onto the sand I went, beating it
Boom, boom, boom, boom
I opened my mouth and sang songs of old
And danced the steps my grandfather taught me

Up and down I danced and sang
Up and down danced the feathers
Up and down danced my shadow
And up and up climbed the moon
Reigning supreme as ever in her night realm

Across the bay of calm water
My voice and the kundu drum echoed
Soon my shadow disappeared under my feet
And I knew the moon and I were one
Dancing the night away
