Clubs urge to pay fees

ALL the participating clubs have been urged to pay up their respective club affiliation fees this month to be able to take part in the 2007/08 Lae cricket competition.
Lae Cricket Association chief William Maha said yesterday that the executive had resolved to reduce the affiliation fees from K1,800 to K1,000.
“Our patron Fred Cook had kindly pledged to meet the cost of hire of Unitech fields and the executive had decided to reduce the affiliation fees to K1,000 per club. This means those clubs that have paid in full will have K800 refunded less monies owing for the balls,” Maha said.
“Those clubs that have only paid K500 will be required to pay the remaining balance of K500 to fully comply with all the affiliation requirements.”
Mr Maha said Pagini Hoods had paid K1,800 and would have K800 refunded to them less K45 for the ball fees, they would only receive K755 in refund. Raukele also met all the requirements and, after ball fees, will receive K620.
Niugini Oil has also met all the affiliation requirements and will have K800 refunded less K90 ball fees, they will receive K710. Koukou paid half of its affiliation fees and has another K500 owing to LCA with K85 ball fess, and have to pay another K585.
Sirovai Mariners and Lagatoi have both paid K500 respectively and have K500 remaining to be paid to the association to become fully affiliated members of Lae Cricket Association.
The deadline for all the outstanding affiliation fees is Jan 31. Failing that all points gained from round nine to 12 will be automatically deducted.
Deadline for clubs who have not completed their full affiliation fees payments have been extended to Feb 15 or face expulsion from taking part in the competition.
