Pukpuks receive Trukai gear

By PETER PUSAL
Trukai industries have pitched to assist the PNG Pukpuks under 20 team with a donation of training shirts and polo shirts to the value of K1,500.

The shirts were received yesterday at the Gordons Secondary School grounds where the U20 squad made up of players from Moresby and Lae who played in a trail two weeks ago.
The team of 22 is set to travel to Auckland, New Zealand, where they will play rivals the Cook Islands in a world cup qualifier.
The team will also benefit from the expertise of Cairns – based Kumul trainer Mathew Natusch, who will run them through their paces and give them strength and conditioning pointers before they fly off to Auckland on the Jan 21.
Speaking about their chances against what will practically be a home game for the Cook Islands in Auckland, coach Robert Doko was realistic by saying the team would give a good account of themselves. He was adamant that, with the composed and disciplined approach, the U20 Pukpuks would more than match their rivals.
The travelling officials include co coaches Doko and Robin Tarere along with media rep resentatives Paul Tamik Junior.
