Shameful to fight over top cop’s post

NOT only is it shameful for senior police officers to fight over the police commissioner’s post but it is also childish.
The worst part is that it is a waste of resources and it gives criminals the opportunity to go about their ways.
When the former police commissioner’s term was just about to expire, he was confronted with a summons, arrested and questioned.
When the acting police commissioner, Tom Kulunga, was sidelined for alleged involvement in the Moti affair, Fred Seekiot was named.
The man flew to Port Moresby to take up the post but was not welcomed by his deputies.
The National Executive Council then appointed Gari Baki, who also encountered opposition.
Are we dealing with a police force or a political regime?
It appears that someone based in Port Moresby is behind all this.
I thank the National Court for resolving the matter quickly as we need a police commissioner urgently.
