Seserta confirmed for Bulolo open seat race

MOROBE Deputy Governor Utika Seserta yesterday confirmed that he was entering the race for the Bulolo Open seat in the coming national election.
Mr Seserta also told The National that he accepted endorsement of the PNG National Party as one of its three candidates in Morobe.
He said the party was one of the oldests in the country and had a proud history.
“The party does not belong to the Highlanders or the Simbus like many people think. It is a Papua New Guinean party and it belongs to the people of PNG.
“It has been in government and some of its policies, especially in agriculture, transport and infrastructure can still be felt in the country,” Mr Seserta said.
He thanked the party executives for their confidence in him and assured them that he would do his best in the coming election to win.
Meanwhile, the PNG National Party has also endorsed Johnny Yang for the Tewai-Siassi seat and Julius Kunai Ikolriso for the Menyamya seat.
The party’s national coordinator Joe Mek Teine said his party had established its own constitution to guide and work closely with all other leaders to move the country forward in the next 30 years.
“We will be working closely with People’s First Party (PFP) and will not be endorsing a candidate to contest against Morobe Governor Luther Wenge during the national election this year as we have a lot of respect for him,” Mr Teine said.
Mr Teine said the party would conduct its campaign based on its policies and would sell its policy to the people of Morobe and PNG.
PFP national president Musereke Ambuzinga pledged K1,000, as PFP’s contribution, to PNG National Party.
“I welcome PNG National Party to Morobe. We need good leaders with vision to work together to move Morobe and PNG forward.
“You are with the landowners and we will work together to make sure good leaders are elected into office to bring this country forward,” Mr Ambuzinga said.
