Team strives for NI unity

AN ad hoc group calling itself Team New Ireland has been formed to push for changes for the benefit of the province.
“Team New Ireland was formed with the basic aim of coordinating a provincial effort through out New Ireland to effect change for the better,” acting chairman Benjamin Remesen said in a statement.
He said Team New Ireland’s major focus was the 2007 national election.
Mr Remesen said Team New Ireland was incepted in Kavieng in October last year with a committee comprising esteemed individuals in place to oversee its activities.
He said Team New Ireland’s mission statement was to restore justice, dignity and prosperity.
“Team New Ireland is not a political party and is not affiliated to any political party.”
