Boroko name 16-man nines squad

THE Boroko off-season rugby league (BORL) have finalised a 16-man team to participate in the AJ Micro Finance nines competition starting this weekend.
The squad: Kemi Yol, Raymond Howa, Scotty Lobi, Lainis Nema, Enock Gunua, Sylvester Nuabo, David Moriki, Rodney Kipa, Komane Temai, Kilo Kennedy (captain), Steve Gunua, George Buluma, Flynn Diri, Joejoe Deri, Danny James and John Titus.
Coach Benny Kene, Ben Marme (trainer), Thomas Ninimo (manager), Arnold Maima (official) and Fraser Bibel.
They thanked Port Moresby Rugby League for recognising them.
BORL president Steady Aioke urged the players to do their best.
“These players are raw and rubbing shoulders with other experienced players will help improve them,” Aioke said.
He said they were new to Nines and would go in as the underdogs.
Meanwhile, Moitaka Dragons lead the A Grade competition with 12points, 5-Mile Ducks 11, 4-Mile Cats 10, Oresi Chiefs 10 and Hebou Tigers nine.
In B Grade, Moitaka Dragons 14, Hebou Tigers 12, 5-Mile Ducks 10, Tasman Gunz 10 and 4-Mile Cats eight.
