Seven Kundus to attend boot camp

SEVEN Kundus junior rugby league players will attend a week-long boot camp in Goroka next week.
They are Timothy Mai, Steven Neng, John Arame, Sipro Mikave, Api Waregiso, Hassler Soso and Gibson Mai.
Highlands development officer said 14 Goroka schoolboys’ elite representative players from different primary and high schools would also attend the camp.
He said the students selected were Robin Inorowe, Sambecko Torresion Tom Boga, Seni Sark, Mathew Tamugo, Kela Koi, Junior Kaupa, Roger Wilson, Francis Insionda, Nesinom Tonga, Robert Gare, Ezekiel Pawa, Aipu Tambua, Noel Erali, Leonard Wayakai, Apaso Repago, Vozo Veho and Nisio Nick.
Tokam said the young players would learn basic skills and correct techniques to execute these skills in rugby league.
He said that the camp would be held at the National Sports Institute starting next Monday.
He said they would learn ball handling, catching, passing, carrying the ball while running, playing the ball, tackling, kicking, evasions and scrummaging.
Tokam said the players would go through different drills incorporated with the game skills and they do weight training.
He said Lae Bombers’ coach Steve Davidson and Lahanis’ coach Hans Kaybing would conduct the camp.
