Hiritano h’way undergoes upgrading

By CLIFFORD FAIPARIK
Work is progressing along the deteriorated Hiritano Highway under the K1.05 million National Government and AusAID counter-funding road maintenance project.

The upgrading of the road is being carried out by Lailai and Dekenai Constructions.
When all is completed, the road will be sealed by Global Construction.
Kairuku-Hiri MP Paru Aihi thanked the National Government for providing funds to help maintain the road.
“After all, the electoral funds are not enough for road maintenance as there are other projects to be carried out too,” the Kairuku-Hiri MP said.
The Hiritano Highway is an important link for the people of Central and Gulf as it connects Port Moresby to Kairuku and Goilala districts of Central province and Gulf province.
