MCC all set to build HQ in Madang

THE China Metallurgical Construction Corporation (MCC), developers of Ramu nickel-cobalt resource, will begin construction work on its head office in Madang town next month.
The company is presently operating from the Highlands Pacific property.
Preparation work on the site at Section 95, Lot 12 and 13, is underway with construction expected to begin after the Chinese New Year which falls on Feb 18.
The National visited the site formerly known as “Bundi Settlement” beside the Mobil service station yesterday where ground work was well underway.
Heavy earthmoving equipment have been clearing the area since late last year and yesterday, workmen were laying the foundation for future streets in the 4ha property.
Aside from the PNG headquarters of MCC, the compound will also have accommodation units for about 100 staff.
MCC has also acquired the former Madang Inn and is converting it into another accommodation compound.
The National also visited this property yesterday where single hostel-type accommodations are being erected in addition to the former Madang Inn structures.
