SCRUM support U20 team
THE Supporters Club Rugby Union Morobe (SCRUM) have
stepped up their assistance of under 20 rugby union development at the
national level by providing monetary support to both the provincial and
national sides. Being the life-line for the Morobe Rugby Union and the
junior development programme for Morobe Province, SCRUM has taken its focus
with junior rugby development to the national level, and has provided
funding assistance of K7,000 for the national U20 team which is
participating in Auckland tomorrow, under the World Tournament Qualifiers.
Runners take on GH
Tomorrow afternoon at 4.45pm POMRR will meet at Garden Hills for 2 and 8km
events. The longer course will see the runners climb the steep Poreporena
Freeway to “The Rock” and back. All welcome and still only 20t to
participate. The calendar of events for the next six months will be
distributed.
Credit Corp sponsor team
Finance company Credit Corp last week got behind the Under 20 Pukpuks
sponsoring the team’s official polo shirts. The U/20s team which is
currently in Auckland preparing to play Cook Islands in a one-off match will
wear the shirts to all official team events including functions, matches and
on travel.
Knights end Makana dream run
LJSP KB Knights ended Makana Cowboys hope of making it into the major
semifinals in Pool B of Bomana off-season rugby league competition by
defeating them 8-6 on Wednesday. The game between the two clubs was a
rematch of last Saturday’s main game that ended prematurely.
