Telikom still lagging in services despite
the head start

I LOST my mobile phone late last month. I enquired at Pacific Mobile Communications if it was possible to use the same mobile number.
I was advised that it was possible provided I pay K20 for a replacement SIM card. I paid K20 for it but until today (almost the end of January), the number has yet to be activated.
I called the B Mobile sales office to check but each of the eight times I called, I was asked the same question – receipt of payment.
I have given the receipt of payment to the officer who served me on Dec 29.
I have also visited the B Mobile office five times and each time I was told “you will be contacted”.
It is very frustrating for me to be told this each time I check on the progress.
Do you wonder why many people switched to Digicel?
At least this foreign-owned company is serving Papua New Guineans, unlike our so-called “home brand”.
It is a shame Telikom is lagging so far behind despite having such a head start.
I call on Telikom to wake up and provide services to its people. I am sure you can do better.
