Meanwhile, the PNG Under 20 Pukpuks lost their World Tournament qualifier against Cook Islands 27-7 in Auckland on Saturday.
At half time the Cooks led 6-0 courtesy of two penalties while the Pukpuks were disallowed two tries.
The Cooks went on to win the game by a 20-point margin, scoring three tries to one but assistant coach Ian Liveras speaking last Friday evening about the teams performance said a lack of composure did not help the Pukpuks at crucial moments in the game.
“We lost concentration at crucial times during the match. Although we held our own in the set pieces, those two disallowed tries in the first half sapped our morale.”
