New Zealand envoy arrives in Bougainville

THE new High Commissioner for New Zealand to Papua New Guinea Ambassador Niels Holm arrived in Autonomous Region of Bougainville yesterday to check on the progress of NZ police service and other projects in the region.
Mr Holm said his purpose of the visit was to continue the representative work that his predecessor Laurie Marks had established there.
He will be in Bougainville for four days.
He said apart from discussing police issues, he would meet with leaders to hear and look into problems that are affecting the development of economic, social and political growth of Bougainville.
During his stay, he will also pay a courtesy visit to the Bougainville house of representatives to meet President Joseph Kabui and his cabinet members.
