Clash of the Bankers
By HENRY MORABANG
THERE is likely to be a new leader in the Private Companies netball
competition after Sunday’s matches as teams try to consolidate their
position on the points ladder.
Leaders Bank South Pacific (BSP) will go up against Westpac in what is
dubbed as clash of the bankers on Sunday.
Westpac are currently in third spot with 23 points, a point behind second
placed Brian Bell while BSP lead the pack on 26 points.
The clash of the Bankers will be the highlight of this weekend’s
competition.
BSP will be led by Renagi Dringo, Madlene Topelemu, Kay John and the company
while Westpac will be led by Mona Lisa-Leka.
Leka finally settled well in her new team who are literally made up of
unknowns such as center Violet Banian, Amy Dobunaba, Tovi Amona, Notau Leka,
Ani Vele and Annette Sela.
It is likely that Leka will partner Vele in the shooting department which
definitely will make life difficult for Kay John and her teams.
The Westpac and BSP match will be a interesting match to watch.
In the early game, Fairdeal should have no problem over Moore Printers;
Brian Bell will prove too strong for NTIL while Kina Security will give a
good game to STC Finance.
Kina’s Heni Pala need to lift her performance to score points for her team.
Last week, Pala did not played well in scoring points – something she needs
to improve on if Kina is to win this weekend.
The points ladder as of last weekend.
Points ladder: BSP-26, Brian Bell-24, Westpac-23, Fairdeal-23, NTIL-19, STC
Finance-11, Kina-9 and Moore 0 and in Division One – ANG-30. Crowne
Plaza-30, Fincorp-30, PMT-20, Pryde-20, QBE-12, STC Shipping-8 and
Theodist-6.
