Somare Cup can race on

The Sir Michael Somare Cup canoe racing will start today at Ela Beach and will continue tomorrow.
The annual race, which feature many top canoes from Coastal villagers of Central province.
The B grade races will be today while the C and A grade will be held tomorrow.
Lalohadai a canoe from Barobau village after being crowned the champion of B grade from the Motuan coastline at Tubusereia village on Dec 29 is set and ready for the upcoming race this weekend.
The race is also the first for the 2008 racing calendar, and all canoe owners and their skippers are looking forward for a win to set a record.
Lalohadai skippers Sepa Gari and crew Tau Kevau, when asked about the race, said that the canoes in the likes of March Girls from Gaire, Sediham, AunaFonza, Sebisebi from Tubuseria and Mapehwara, Freedom, MK 80 and Kiri generana, would be out there to give a good challenge.
Joshema an outsider also form Barakau is no exception for she will make sure that the race is not only for the favourites.
Lalohadai who has being nicknamed Sinabada meaning white woman for its beauty and colour is not new to this race, for she has won in this race in year 2005 and she will be bobing forward to repeating the same this year 2008.
