PNG Govt should protect employment rights of its people

I AM very annoyed to read about the operation of a mining company in Papua New Guinea that have a vice-chairman who cannot even speak and understand English or pidgin.
I don’t understand how the Labour Department failed to investigate issues like protecting the employment rights of all Papua New Guineans.
We have a high unemployment rate in Papua New Guinea and the Government must explain why it had allowed the mining company to bring in Chinese workers in that particular mining site.
It is a slap in our face that our graduates from universities, colleges and vocational centres are unable to find a job at the mine.
Our landowners and Papua New Guineans should be working at the mine.
I call on the landowners on where the mine is located to vigorously pursue their interest and urge the Government to ensure that Papua New Guineans are employed at the mine.
