Amini recognised for efforts

Papua New Guinea’s Cheryl Amini won the “Volunteer of the Year” award due to her outstanding commitment to the PNG Cricket Board and the Port Moresby Cricket Association. In addition to this, Amini is team manager for the PNG National Under 19 Team, and was appointed Team Manager for the ICC East Asia-Pacific Team at the Australian Country Cricket Championships.
The ICC East Asia-Pacific Region announced on Jan 31 the Regional Development Awards for 2007.The EAP award winners will now join winners from the four other International Development Programme Regions at the ICC Global Awards, with winners to be announced on March 13.
The ICC Development Program Awards were established to recognise exceptional performance and service to the game of cricket in all associate and affiliate member countries, and aims to recognise these contributions among all levels of cricket development.
Amini has had a life long association with the sport from the days when her father the late Patrick Amini was a cricketer and administrator to the present where she has assisted cricket in Port Moresby and PNG in various roles.
