Seeking action from Parkop

After reading NCD Governor Powes Parkop’s explanation regarding the K7 million Port Moresby beautification contract, I wish to thank him and I am convinced that we will see a new Port Moresby before the next general election.
For now I can live with the pot holes in the hope it will be fixed very soon.
Other issues I would like to bring to Parkop’s attention are:
1. The K36 million Waigani Road project. Can you, governor, explain to us why this 1.8km road cost us the tax payers K20 million per kilometre. Why should the government of the day and NCDC be so arrogant in refusing to provide an explanation?
Once the road is finished, it will just be like any other road within Port Moresby. The bulk of the materials used are local gravel, sand, stone and cement.
I personally voted for Mr Parkop in the hope that a review of this contract would be carried out. This has not happened and an explanation will be appreciated.
2. The buai market behind the Boroko Post Office. This used to be a quite, clean and peaceful place for visitors, shoppers and workers. Now we have a 12hrs busy, noisy, smelly and crowded place where people produce heaps of rubbish and dump them into the drain beside the market.
This market indirectly caters for petty thieves, pickpockets and loafers. Let us make a bold decision and get rid of it and get the Happy Gardener to beautify Boroko.
3. Lets get rid of buais and buai sellers in the city. The silent majority supports you in this area. In the short term, some sections of the community will complain about loss of income, but it is for the good of all that buai should be banned in public places and only chewed at home.
The Health Department has warned us of increases in mouth cancer and TB. Buai chewing depicts us as people who prefers to live among rubbish, spitting anywhere and not caring about those who do not chew buai.
