Proposed challenge off
THE proposed Under 23 challenged between PNG Under 23 and Solomon Under 23
charity match has been cancelled. The organiser for the charity match John
Kapi Natto said the match was cancelled because the Solomon Island will not
be able to make it to Port Moresby opting instead to head to Gold Coast,
Queensland, for two weeks of intensive training. Kapi Natto said PNGFA and
NSL Management apologised to soccer fans and the public about the
cancellation. The PNG team will now play against a ‘All Star NSL Port
Moresby Selected Side’ from three franchise Teams Hekari United FC, Inspac
Rapatona & Gelle Hills FC in Port Moresby on Feb 29.
Runners keen to go
AT 4.45pm tomorrow Port Moresby road runner will meet at Waigani Post Office
for the 1.8km, 5km and 8.5km events. The races will start at Telikom and
head in the direction of the Port Moresby golf course. All are welcome to
participate and it is still only 20 toea to participate.
Important meeting on
PRIVATE Companies Netball competition will hold a special meting at 12 noon
at Rita Flynn’s court to discuss the grand final and presentation format.
According to email from PCNC executives, this season’s grand final and
presentation will definitely not the same as the one they have been having
in the last seasons. It is important that all companies and teams
representatives must attend so that information can be passed on to
respective corporate employers. Meanwhile, Division 5, Division 7 and
Division 9 have completed all their games and will be waiting for other
grades to complete their rounds.
Women squad named
THE Port Moresby Women’s Softball Association have named their training
squad for the National Softball championship during the Easter break. Like
the men’s training squad the women’s squad has also been divided into
Digicel Whites and Digicel Reds. Digicel Reds: Maggie Joseph, Wendy Katusele,
Antonia Tatai, Joyce Inguba, Wendy Sogai, Tersie Komek, Shirley ToMangana,
Selina Karai, Nicki Simba, Clair Wutt, Mechtild Raymond, Jenny Pilak,
Cathleen Tarura, Esther X kenjik, Mary Wangogo Lisa Polum, Mathilda Moe.
