Five internationals to lead Lae in bowls pairs

FIVE representative lawn bowlers Nadu Namun, Peter Pomaleu, Albert Barakeina, Joe Taso and Pomex Pomaleu will lead the 13-man strong pairs team from Morobe capital to take part in the PNG Bowls Federation national men’s pairs championships in Bulolo starting tomorrow.
The five internationals have been named as captains of the 13 teams that will travel by road to Bulolo today to prepare for the opening of the two-day championships tomorrow.
Lae Bowls secretary Albert Barakeina said they hosted their own local pairs competition two weeks ago and had selected 26 best bowlers to represent Lae in the coming championships in Bulolo this weekend.
“We are confident of doing well as we will be sending 13 men’s pair team up to Bulolo to challenge other centres for the national title this weekend,” Barakeina said.
“Port Moresby, Goroka, Madang, Mt Hagen and host Bulolo have also named strong sides to take part in the national championships and will all arrive today and connect to Bulolo,” he said.
“Michael Panap said from Bulolo that they have finalised the accommodation arrangements for all the players to stay in Bulolo and also a machine will be on stand by to clear the debris from Kumalu River.”
Lae men’s pairs 13 teams line-up is Pelik Sapul and Ruben Soten, John Paliau and Sio Bazo, Vevai Kwalimu and Peter Pomaleu, John Garap and Gabriel Issac, Jack Manau and Joseph Taso, Peter John and Peter Pomaleu, Joel Paliau and Kiani Bazo, Markus Kup and Lazarus Bai, Alex Bai and Karol Kisakou, Sakias Matang and Pomex Pomaleu, Potuku Molean and Nadu Namon, Albert Barakeina and Harry Kaisa, Matu Bazo and Alois Simbinali.
