Tarangau get timely boost

TABUBIL Rugby League starts its 2008 season in a fortnight’s time with the reigning premiers, Tarangau, given a timely boost.
This came in the form of uniforms – jerseys, shorts and socks – courtesy of Roche Mining of Australia.
Valued at K14,000 the set of uniforms were purchased from Kombat Sportswear in Brisbane. They were handed over to Tarangau rugby league club on Wednesday night.
Roche Mining project manager Craig Leppinus told Tarangau executives and players that his company always looked forward to giving something back to the communities and doing so in line with its values and visions.
“We’ve been looking around Tabubil for some way to put something back into the community. We’ve been here for four years and the community of Tabubil has been very good to Roche and as a company we would like to put something back into the community so we looked around at something that reflected Roche’s values and visions and two things that we think that are important to Roche for long term community relations are youth development and team work. That’s why we sponsored the club,” Leppinus said.
He wished the Club and its players a successful 2008 rugby league season in the local competition.
PNG Rugby Football League deputy chairman Eric Kuman commended Roche Mining for its contribution to PNG’s national sport.
