B Mobile’s new top-up system

By FRANK ASAELI
TELICOM has introduced a new mode of topping up credits for B Mobile users.
The electronic payment system simply called “E-Pay” is being supplied and to be operated by Fiji-owned E-Pay Ltd.
The deal on the new service was signed by Telikom and the E-Pay yesterday.
Mr Loko said B Mobile’s new payment scheme, which is similar to PNG Power’s Esi-Pay, has already been trialed in Port Moresby, Mt Hagen, Kokopo before it was formally introduced.
City Pharmacy, one of the companies that trialed the system, will be an outlet of this service.
Mr Loko said Telikom will supply to retailers the requested quantity of personal identification numbers (PINs) from their “in-house” server.
He pointed out that each retailer of E-Pay will only be allocated up to 700 PINs for call credit top-ups at any one time.
Mr Loko said the new scheme is more secure and lessens the risks associated with loss of pre-paid cards, cuts down on cards production cost by K1.8 million, and will be available to a lot more customers.
He said E-Pay is “expected to be an efficient, cost-effective, and popular service” for topping-up B Mobile credits”.
