TIGERS are leading the competition ladder with 10 points after the end of round one of the competition in the Lae men’s ‘A’ grade competition last weekend.
The rest of the ladder is Islands Salvage Manolos on 8, Burma Raiders 5 with Telikom bringing up the rear with sole point.
Islands Salvage Manolos, Islands Hawks (1) and Telikom are all tied on 8 points apiece and Islands Hawks (2) have yet to register any points on the board in the women’s ‘A’ grade competition ladder.
Lae Softball Association president Paul Pasen said the competition is progressing well and the last round of double header games will be played this weekend to determine who will take out the minor premiers.
Burma Raiders held Telikom to a 4-all draw, Tigers went down to a fired up Burma Raiders outfit in the next game and Tigers also flogged Islands Salvage Manolos 4-0 and Manolos upstaged Telikom 6-4 in another tough game in the men’s A grade competition.
In the women’s division Islands hawks (1) edged Islands Salvage Manolos
7-6 and added Telikom to its list of victim with 8-5 beating in the women’s division.
