Highway in dire state

A particular section of the Hiritano Highway between the Inaoae and Inawaia villages is in an appalling state.
The Angabanga River is gradually and slowly cutting right across the road and will form a new route which will create a gap in the highway. Anyone in his right mind can anticipate the enormous consequences for the people of the Kairuku district.
Since the 1970s the highway has been the one and only major lifeline for the rural population who depend on it for delivery of goods and services.
As such I call on the governor of Central province to immediately look into its maintenance and its proper for this and the next generation.
This has been an ongoing problem for the last few years, and there has never been any major repairs done on this particular section.
And so on behalf of the people of Kairuku and even extending to the Gulf population, who are daily commuters on the highway, I call on the honourable Governor Alphonse Moroi to make this his priority in his current term in office.
Of course, there maybe difficulties in securing funds for the repair works as is always the case but I call on him to go out of his way to do something about it.
I believe this is the silent cry or our people.
