Touch of generosity from newspaper

WEEKEND newspaper Sunday Chronicle has jumped on the band wagon with Motor Vehicle Insurance Limited (MVIL) to co-sponsor the MVIL corporate touch team for this season.
Publisher Wesley Raminai presented a cheque of K3,000 while MVIL executive manager for human resource Elijah Pokarup handed a cheque of K2,470 to club president Tony Gamata at MVIL headquarters last Friday.
Raminai when presenting the cheque said that as a keen soccer player before he was pleased to be associated with sports, adding that the idea of corporate sports was good because it promoted healthy living among working people.
He said he was pleased to support the club and urged the management and players to do well during the season in their respective areas to bring returns to the club.
While accepting the sponsorship from the two organisations club president Gamata said the club was the most disciplined in the competition with a record of winning three consecutive seasons in the past.
He said the trophy awarded for being the champion club had never been wrested from the club by any team during the years gone and presented this to MVIL as a token of appreciation for the support rendered.
Gamata said the clubís ambition was to make it a breeding ground for talented participants to make the national side and represent the country one day, adding that already one representative female player Tess Hailue was currently with the club.
