Group carries out awareness on LPV voting system

THE Morobe Welfare Group is carrying out awareness on the limited preferential voting (LPV) system in the rural areas.
Group chairman Peter Seske said in a statement last week that the awareness had gone well.
It was conducted in Nawae, Huon Gulf and Buang. The group will now move to Finschhafen.
During the campaign, the group will announce its candidates for the nine Morobe open seats.
“The Finschhafen programme will see the group introduce nine True Morobe Group (TMG) candidates to contest the nine open seats in Morobe.
“The candidates will walk the nine districts of Morobe to address issues affecting delivery of services in the province,” Mr Seske said.
The group will also address pressing issues which the sitting Morobe MPs had failed to address during the various forums conducted last year.”
Mr Seske claimed the Morobe leaders were not united at the national level.
The group blamed the MPs for the law and order problems, potholes and break down of basic infrastructure and health services.
He said the TMG was a united force and would address Morobe issues.
