Oksapmin assured K1.1 million funding

OKSAPMIN Primary School in the remote Telefomin district in Sandaun province has been assured of K1.1 million funding from Treasury and Planning for infrastructure.
The assurance was given by the monitoring and evaluation division acting assistant secretary Otto Tean.
Headmaster James Minie, teacher Danat Tinapit and board chairman Gabriel Tinapit, who were in Port Moresby recently, were the reciepients of the good news.
Mr Minie said despite Oksapmin being situated in a very isolated part of Sandaun, it was fortunate to get such funding for its projects.
The infrastructure includes teachers’ houses, classrooms, administration block, library and a computer laboratory.
Mr Tean told the three-man delegation that their project proposal was on the list for funding by the Education Department.
He said Oksapmin was among 200 schools that had successfully secured funds for school projects.
