New games put in
place for working class sector

PAPUA New Guinea will soon have its very
own, PNG Corporate Games, for its working class people in the country.
According to Ivan Ravu, he has signed the licence agreement for PNG under
the banner Sports For Life with World Corporate Games body which
automatically makes him a member to stage such competition.
The PNG Games is scheduled for Queen’s Birthday weekend in June and it is
open to all corporate companies, non-governmental organisations and also
government statutory bodies to take part. The inaugural event is set for
June 13-15 in Port Moresby.
He said the major objective of staging the PNG Corporate Games is to promote
health and fitness, leadership amongst the employee and management, increase
product and service recognition to new potential clients and organisation,
develop new incentives programme for employees, enhance enthusiasm,
commitment to the team and employer, enhance corporation amongst employees
and many other benefits.
Ravu said there are numerous benefits for both employees and the
organisations who participate in the “weekend warriors” for their companies
and organization.
Sports in the program include basketball cricket, golf, netball, outrigger
canoeing, rugby union 7s rugby league 9s, Soccer 6s, squash, touch and
volleyball.
He said so far three teams Daltron, City Mission and Coffey International
have shown interest to participate in some events of the PNG Corporate
Games.

details for registration and deadline: www.corporate-games.com. The
programme can be viewed on PNG Games 2008.
