Murderers should be sent to the gallows

I WISH to comment on the sentencing given to two hardcore criminals in Rabaul, who committed willful murder.
These two criminals, who were cruel and callous and habitually disposed to murder and rape, took away two precious lives.
The presiding judge, Justice Salatiel Lenalia, in his wisdom sentenced the two, to spend their life-time behind bars.
If the learned judge cannot deliberate using the laws to its full extent by imposiong the death penalty that has been afforded to him by Parliament, I would suggest that he put in his resignation.
We cannot afford to feed murderers as well as rapists in our prisons as well as handsomely reward judges who cannot, or do not want to, excise the death penalty where it has merit, as in this case.
It is imperative that judges exercise their judgment where it is due.
