Senior LLG officers upgrade skills in management

By ELIJAH FAIPARIK
FORTY senior officers from the Department of Provincial and Local Level Government Affairs graduated with certificates after completing an in-house training in advanced administrative and management.
Provincial Affairs Secretary Gei Ilagi announced the end of the course run by Tanorama.
The PNG-Australia Targeted Training Facility, on behalf of AusAID, contracted the 12-month programme.
The programme included skills for coaching and mentoring, client management, time management, report writing and the use of email as a management communication tool, he said.
Mr Ilagi said: “Learning does not stop but continues – it’s a lifetime process for all.”
The programme had had a positive impact within the department and should be done in all the provinces, he said.
According to Mr Ilagi, the participants were satisfied with the programme and the training has supported them in contributing to the department’s corporate plan.
Individual gains are expected to carry through to have a positive effect in the organisation.
