Why is zoom not available?
WHY has InterOil stopped selling zoom
all of a sudden? Can somebody in the company explain please? Would
not this be as a result of the
Government’s policy of price reduction on the product? I have not
checked the other fuel companies but from stories I have been
getting, except for Niugini Oil Company, all have stopped selling
zoom. Since the gazettal of the Government’s 2007 budget, InterOil
had suddenly stopped selling zoom and gone into the sale of petrol
and lubricant as separate products. Evidently, this is done to
avoid the cost of Government policy so as to maintain high profit
margins. This is a transgression against the Government and people
of this country and companies who practise this should be held
accountable for their actions. It is now a challenge for the
Government to protect the interests of the people. Can ICCC and
other relevant Government agencies do something please? –

In support of Posman
READING about how PNGFA treated
Posman, John Peka and others during the PNGFA bi-annual congress
just makes me sick. Mr Posman has done a lot more for PNG soccer
than anyone else, and I do not think Chung knows that. But that is
not the point. Posman, does not care how he is treated. What we
are doing now is not good at all for PNG soccer. What are we doing
to PNG soccer, Chung? I call on all those supporting Chung to take
a step back and ask yourselves. What you are doing now, following
and supporting Chung, is it any good for soccer in PNG? If your
answer is “yes”, I’d say you are a “clown”. If Chung is not
following simple rules governing PNGFA meetings, then this is
wrong. For Mr Posman to abdicate a position as chairman of the
Disciplinary and Ethics Committee in OFC for the interest of
soccer in PNG is special. And I salute you for that. – Ndro Oi

Touching lives
THE Foundation for Rural Development
(FORD, Inc) is touching the lives of countless people in rural
communities in the Western Highlands province. FORD, under the
management of Alphonse Pu, has reached areas where there are no
Government services. The recent declaration of FORD’s association
with Mount Hagen Eagles – once one of the prominent teams in the
Highlands region – is a classic paradigm of some of those areas
where FORD is working to minimise lawlessness. We recognise FORD’s
efforts and hope that more Government funding for these kinds of
non-profit organisations take precedence over other areas. –

Thanks for Oksapmin funding
I AM from Oksapmin station in Sandaun
province. I am currently working for BHP Billiton and living in
Australia. I am a keen reader of The National Online and
read it each night. I would like to thank you for the coverage on
Oksapmin getting funding assistance from the Government. I would
also like to congratulate and thank Otto Tean and the Treasury and
Planning Department for the K1.1 million in funding provided to
Oksapmin Primary School. – Kedi Ilimbit, Via email
