Fed up of compensation claims

II am disgusted to read that people along the Highlands Highway are demanding compensation for natural disasters that block the flow of goods and services.
The relevant Government departments can tell us how much has been paid on unnecessary compensations claims, not to mention payments made because of problems at Daulo Pass.
How many times have we read in the papers that the Daulo landowners have held up traffic because they wanted compensation (for something no one is responsible for)?
The people of Daulo must appreciate that if it weren’t for the road, they would be the least developed places in Eastern Highlands.
They must respect the highway, which is a State property, and must cooperate with the authorities in times of disasters.
Further, the National Government must expedite development of an alternative highway from Kamaliki to Movi that is being funded by the European Union.
All Highlands governments should join forces to support this project.
Hats off to David Anggo for initiating the project after so much lip service by past MPs.
