Digicel launches new SMS-based info service ‘DigiINFO’

DIGICEL has launched its new service “DigiINFO” yesterday.
A SMS-based information service, DigiINFO is the first of its kind in the country.
The new service is a fast and easy new way to be kept up-to-date with all the latest news on your Digicel phone.
Customers can get information on their cellphones about the latest news, sports updates (National Rugby League, IRB Sevens Circuit and cricket), bible verses, MTV charts (Top 5), astrology forecasts, jokes and the daily weather forecast.
DigiINFO is very easy to use. It works by sending a SMS text message to 4636 (INFO).
All customers have to do is type in the keyword for the information required as a text message.
For example, for an update on the latest IRB Sevens Circuit news customers type in “IRB7” and then send the message to 4636. An SMS text message will then be sent back within a minute with the information requested. The DigiINFO service is available to all Digicel prepaid and postpaid customers. Each SMS request sent to the short code 4636 will be charged 35 toea.
