Lelang praised – the man for the job

Allow me to congratulate Joseph Lelang on his appointment as acting secretary for National Planning and Monitoring by the National Government (The National, Feb 21).
I hail from Pangia in the Southern Highlands province, one of the remote corners of the Highlands.
From what I know of this gentleman, he is a humble and down-to-earth person with an exceptional moral standing.
He is a very competent economist with a high degree in economic planning and has proven in earlier positions to be one of the best policy draftsmen and a competent administrator.
His credentials give the Government and people of PNG an assurance of a new and higher level of leadership at the premier development planning office.
Congratulations Minister Paul Tiensten and the Government for appointing the best person for the job.
