Experts support use of pure crete in ENB

ROAD construction experts have refuted claims from Works Minister Gabriel Kapris last week that pure crete is an “untested material” for road building in East New Britain province.
The experts are Philip Stagg of the Institution of Engineers PNG and Andrew Donald of the Pureone Environmental Inc, distributor of pure crete.
They said tests carried out by the Department of Works showed pure crete tested on a road section at Napa Napa did not have potholes or defects over a period of two and half years.
They said the US-patented material is now being used in more than 40 countries and carries an eight-year warranty.
They also said pure crete is significantly cheaper than the conventional road construction materials that also proved to be of low quality, thus giving endless problems to the Government.
“Pure crete is just about a third of the cost of conventional rural road construction materials and the only 100% environmentally-safe product in the world, not to mention an eight-year warranty it carries,” Mr Donald said.
