Awardee declines National Logohu Award

I write to decline the award of National Logohu Medal that was recently awarded to me for my services to the public service and the Public Employees Association.
With greatest respect to the Government House, the National Association and the National Honours and Awards Committee, I am declining this award as I have already been awarded the same award last year. Whilst I am humbled and honoured by the award, I still fell my services are insignificant to those rendered by many of my past and present colleagues who deserve to be honoured.
There are many public servants and other service providers serving in the remote parts of this country like the community health workers, teachers, extension officers, district and local government officers, church workers, councillors and Village Court officials, who deserve to be recognised for their services in nation building.
There are also many committed and distinguished public servants and other service providers who have left the service and living quietly in the villagers and towns who should be considered for such awards.
This situation requires a proper district, provincial, departmental and agency honours and award committees to be set up to receive and consider nominations to both the National Logohu Honours and Queens Birthday Honours.
