Women boxers for China, Moscow

PAPUA New Guinea will send a small team to the Women World Boxing championships in Ningbo City, China, from Oct 30 to Nov 10 this year and the 2008 AIBA World Championships in Moscow, Russia, in December.
AIBA vice-president Lohial Nuau said AIBA executive committee meeting in Korea last week has unanimously endorsed and approved the city of Ningbo City as host following the excellent power point presentation and their bidding skills.
The AIBA executive committee also endorsed Moscow as the city to host the World Cup boxing championships.
Nuau said yesterday the AIBA World Cup will only be contested by the top five boxers in their weight
categories in the world ranking - this means countries like Cuba, Russia, USA, China, Thailand, England, Italy, and Romania will be definitely competing.
The host City of Moscow and Russian Boxing Federation under the new leadership of General Mergrov have committed huge amounts of prize money for the gold, silver & bronze medal winners.
The PNGABU secretary-general John Avira said that they will be sending a team to China and Moscow.
