Kompiam Ambum seeks intervention

ELECTION-related ethnic fighting that has been evident in some districts of Enga province has now reached the Kompiam Ambum area, the home ground of former Enga governor Jeff Balakau and incumbent John Pundari.
The fighting started when an angry supporter of a losing candidate killed one of the strong supporters of Pundari at Balakau’s village last year.
Millions of kina worth of properties were destroyed and several innocent lives lost while law enforcers in Enga turned a blind eye on the situation.
Kompiam Ambum people have given mandate to Pundari with high expectations of a reduction in such ethnic conflicts and the start of tangible developments in the area.
However, we have not seen Pundari since the 2007 elections while other Engan MPs have visited their electorates a number of times to spell out their strategic plans for the next five years.
The Kompiam Ambumpeople would like to know what strategies Pundari have in place for the K10 million district improvement funds that have been allocated by the National Government.
We urge Pundari to come home to help eradicate the mess that has followed the 2007 general election before things get more out of hand.
